XREAL Aura: what XREAL confirms and what it still won't say
The XREAL Aura is the most talked-about launch in the category and, at the same time, the worst documented. There are dozens of headlines quoting resolution, weight and battery figures. None of those figures appear anywhere on XREAL's official site.
This article separates the two. What the company confirms in writing, and what it still has not published. Checked on xreal.com and eu.shop.xreal.com on 9 September 2026.

The architecture is worth pausing on, because it explains almost everything else. XREAL moved the brain out of the glasses: the Snapdragon lives in a pocket puck, and the frame carries only the X1S, whose job is keeping the image from lagging. That is what makes glasses this powerful wearable at all — and also what puts a cable and a second device in your pocket.
The other strength is the optical see-through. No cameras rebuilding the room: you see the real world directly, through glass, with no video delay. And when you want to shut it out, the glass darkens electrochromically.
What XREAL has not published
Short list, and it is the one that matters:
- The actual price. There is only a ceiling: no more than $1,500 before tax. That could mean $1,499 or $900.
- The weight. Not a single figure in grams anywhere on the page.
- Resolution and refresh rate of the panels.
- Battery: neither capacity nor runtime, for the puck or the glasses.
- Camera: world-facing sensors are described for tracking and AI vision, but there is no megapixel count and no word on whether it records.
- Audio: not mentioned at all.
- European price and date. The $1,500 ceiling is quoted in dollars, before tax.
If you see those numbers published elsewhere as official, they did not come from XREAL. We do not publish them until the company does, and that is why the Aura has no entry in our catalogue yet: scoring camera, battery and audio on unpublished specs would mean inventing the rating.
How to reserve one
Here there is a concrete, useful fact almost nobody reports: you can reserve from Europe, in euros, through XREAL's European store.
There were three routes. One is left:
| Route | Amount | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Founder Priority Pass | $299 | Sold out. All 2,000 passes went in 36 hours |
| Launch Credit ($99 → $199 of credit) | $99 | Sold out |
| Priority Deposit | €199 | Available, limited time |
The Priority Deposit works like this, per the store's own terms:
- It is not a physical product. Nothing ships. It is a code.
- The full €199 comes off the final Aura price at launch.
- You can request a full refund at any point before the code is activated.
- One active code per account, valid only for the Aura.
Put plainly: €199 you get back in full if you change your mind, or that comes off in full if you buy. What you are buying is not a discount. It is your place in the queue.
Our read
The Aura does not compete with the AI glasses in this catalogue. It sits a floor above them, pointing the other way: where Ray-Ban Meta or the RayNeo iO want to go unnoticed, the Aura wants to replace a monitor and half a computer.
The honest comparison today is the XREAL One Pro, which the company already sells: 57 degrees of field of view and one clear job, putting a big screen in front of you. The Aura goes to 70 degrees and adds Android XR, Gemini and 6DoF tracking — at the cost of a separate puck and possibly three times the price.
And the number that will decide whether it is worth it is missing: how much it weighs. Spatial computing glasses meant for long sessions are won or lost in grams, and grams are exactly what XREAL has not said.
We will update this article when price, weight and a European date are published. Until then, this is what exists — and we say plainly what does not.
Frequently asked questions
How much will the XREAL Aura cost? XREAL has not given a price. It has only set a ceiling: no more than US$1,500 before tax. No euro price has been published.
When does the XREAL Aura come out? Fall 2026. XREAL has not narrowed it to a month, and has given no specific date for Europe.
Can you reserve the XREAL Aura from Europe? Yes. XREAL's European store sells the Priority Deposit for €199, which comes off the final price and is fully refundable before the code is activated. The other two reservation routes are sold out.
How much does the XREAL Aura weigh? XREAL has not published it. Any figure in grams you read elsewhere did not come from the company.
Does the XREAL Aura have a camera? XREAL describes a world-facing sensor array for hand tracking, 6DoF and AI vision, but has published no camera resolution and has not said whether it records video.
Does the XREAL Aura work on its own, or does it need a phone? Neither. It ships with its own compute puck running the Snapdragon Reality Elite platform, while the glasses carry only the X1S coprocessor. It also accepts DisplayPort input from a PC, laptop or handheld console.
