Glaiss

How this site works

Glaiss is an independent catalogue of AI glasses and XR viewers, published in four languages. This page collects the rules every spec sheet, comparison and article on the site is written by. If anything you read on Glaiss does not match what it says here, that is our mistake: write to us at [email protected].

How we score

Every model gets a score out of 10 built from seven criteria, weighted identically for every model:

Criterion Weight
AI assistant 20%
Display 15%
Camera and video 20%
Battery 20%
Comfort and design 15%
Value for money 15%
Audio 10%

A criterion that does not apply does not count against the model. XR viewers with no camera and no assistant are not competing in those categories, and glasses with no display are not competing on display either: when a criterion does not apply, or the manufacturer has not published the figure, it is dropped from the calculation and the remaining weights are rescaled proportionally. That is why glasses without a camera can still score well, and why a model whose price is not yet known is not dragged down by it.

For display we score what the manufacturer publishes about it: resolution, colour or monochrome, brightness in nits, field of view, and whether the image reaches both eyes or only one. An XR viewer with a large full-colour virtual screen does not score the same as a green waveguide showing two lines of text.

Scores aggregate reviews published by independent outlets and manufacturer specifications. We have not tested these glasses. None of them. The day we test a model we will say so on its page, including who lent it to us and for how long.

Where the data comes from

We only publish figures we can attribute to a source. In order of preference: the manufacturer, then the specialist press, then nothing.

  • If the manufacturer has not published it, we print "Not published" rather than an estimate. When a figure that mattered was missing, we wrote to the brand and published their answer with its date.
  • We separate confirmed from likely. A yellow label is honestly yellow.
  • We cover brands that do not pay us. XREAL and Even Realities have no affiliate programme and sit in the catalogue with the same spec sheet as everyone else.

Prices

We never hand-write prices. They change daily, and affiliate programme terms forbid publishing them as if they were fixed. What you see on each page is the manufacturer's official price (MSRP), with its source and the date it was verified.

When there is a temporary offer, it appears separately and with the date it expires, so it cannot quietly turn into stale data. The price you pay is whatever the store shows when you open it.

Images and video

Product photos belong to the brands, linked from their official sites, with permission where we asked for it and were given it in writing. We do not copy images to our server, we do not modify them, and we do not use them in paid advertising. Ownership and copyright remain with the manufacturer.

Videos play from YouTube, and nothing is requested from Google until you accept third-party cookies: until then we load neither the player nor the thumbnail. When a video comes from the brand's official channel we say so, and when it is a third party's review we say that too, by name.

How Glaiss is funded

Glaiss earns money through affiliate links: if you buy through one of our links the store pays us a commission and you pay exactly the same price. It is our only source of income: we sell no advertising and publish no sponsored articles.

Commissions do not buy ratings. The brand that pays us most is not the one that scores highest, and when a product has a serious flaw we say so even when it costs us the sale. When buying from a particular store carries a risk — a one-year warranty against the three Spanish law grants, or possible customs charges — we flag it on the page.

The full detail, the specific programmes and the legal framework are in our affiliate disclosure.
